Triglav Ski Touring Traverse

It is a three-day (extended 4 days) ski touring traverse of the Julian Alps from Vogel to Komna, through the Seven lakes valley, across Hribarice and Velo Polje, past Kredarica and the former Triglav glacier down to the Krma Valley. Priceless! The Triglav ski tour ‘Magistrala’ (meaning highway) is the only multi-day ski tour in Slovenia. Every ski tourer should experience it at least once in their lifetime.

Day 1: Cable car to Vogel ski resort –  Vogel 1510m – Šija 1880 – Planina zadnji Vogel 1424m – Konjsko sedlo 1782m – pod Podrto Goro 1850m – Planina Govnjač 1474m –  Dom na Komni 1520m. The tour takes from 6 to 8 hours.
Day 2: Dom na Komni 1520m – Čelo 2232m – Lopučnica 1550m – koča pri 7 jezerih 1685m – bivak na Prehodavcih 2070m. The tour takes from 8 to 10 hours.
Day 3: bivak na Prehodavcih 2070m – Kanjavec 2568m – Hribarice 2358m – Velska dolina 1750m – Bohinjska vratca 1973m  – Krma 980m. The tour takes from 6 to 8 hours.
Extended 4 days Triglav ski traverse with Triglav summit climb or just with ascent up to Kredarica and skiing down to Staničev dom and further on to Krma or Vrata valley.

Highlights

The ‘Magistrala’ or Slovenian ski touring haute route is a superb experience and endurance test in the white embrace of the Triglav national park far away from noise and concrete. Only you, your skis, and a little bit of heavy backpack.
